Anyway, i went shopping with shihan!!!

I saw this really interesting shop selling all this. I wonder if this is appropriate for our studies? HAHA!!!!

Anyway i wanted to purchase the art but i realize i did not have money! Oh well, guess not fated with all this kind of "ART"!



Second Life shopping is not as fun as E-Shopping. E-Shopping is more real life to me. I get to purchase real stuff where as Second Life Shopping only get to purchase virtual stuff!!!! Anyway, I kind of hate Second Life... It is kind of difficult to use!!!!! Anyway! Lesson soon!!!!

Lesson 4 and 5

For this week, i learn that there are many search engines we have not used before. 2 of it i learn today was metacrawler and google directory. i have never ehard of this 2 search engine before in my life! Well shows that i am learning something in this CDS!!!

METACRAWLER

how does metacrawler work? when you conduct a search using meta search engine, the meta search engine will relay the search to to other search engine like google or yahoo. After that it goes for a round of filter and provides you with the relevant search. It is very useful as it gives you all the search available in all the different search engine. However, one bad point is it does not provide with many different search results.

GOOGLE DIRECTORY

Google Directory works like a street directory. Everything is categorized into different category. For example, looking for food in a street directory, we will go to the category and search for food and it will show all the different restaurants and eateries. Google Directory works this way. In a way, your search is narrow down as category is place to simplify all the search.

If you ask me, i prefer Metacrawler as it provides me with more information compared to Google Directory. However, different people will prefer different things.

Week 3

For week 3, lesson was much more slack for that day, and the day was ended with a discussion on the thread on Facebook. The topic was on life without internet. Ironically, we are actually using an internet portal to talk about Life with Internet. How contradictory is that? However, this just show how important Internet is to us.

So this is what i post.

Internet can actually be a tool that will help us in our everyday life. However, it can also be our downfall. As technology is so readily available now, it is almost impossible not to be able to contact anyone, even in the rural areas in Africa. With a Blackberry, we are able to acess any where in the world. However, due to the improve in technology, individuals have actually lesser time to do their personal stuff. For example, on Sundays, which is usually an off day for most working professional, with the up-to-date handphones, should an email come in, we are able to acess it immediately. This means that even on our off days, we are able to do work and contactable by our bosses or subordinates. This is actually not good as we do not have personal time for ourself. However, with the internet, it helps us to save time in alot of ways as compared to the traditonal ways. For example, it saves us alot of time to send a email now, compared to sending the normal mail by post. This allow messages to be pass quickly. But overall, i still feel that the internet can be both a friend and also a foe.

How i wish i dont have to do this every week!!!! :)




Google and Google Scholar


Google is actually a very widely use search engine. When doing project, i am very sure all of us will use Google, or the term, lets "Google It" is always heard. However i am sure not much of us had heard about Google Scholar.
Google Scholar is actually a search engine in which people use to find out about books and author and articles.
However, i find Google Scholar more useless compared to Google, which provides more information. But overall, using Google Scholar to find article and books is actually a very good tool.
